Cloth Pads
Cloth pads are very comfortable for wearing during pregnancy and afterwards to absorb the post partum lochia flow. During the initial 5-10 days post partum, the flow can be quite heavy and most women prefer long absorbent pads for this time. As the lochia reduces, you can use lighter, shorter pads, such as those for regular menstrual use. Lochia may continue for 4-8 weeks. Six weeks is very normal for lochia duration.

Cloth liners are comfortable enough to wear every day and are very economical.
Absorbency is provided by hemp/organic cotton french terry - generally a single layer is sufficient.
There are two styles:
18cm wrap wing - $10.50

Post Partum Pads
Noonee Wilga double snap Amphora cloth pads are contoured to fit into regular brief and bikini style underwear. The double snaps provide a snug closure that reduces any tendency towards twisting or moving around while you are wearing them.
The pad flares out at front and back to provide for extra absorbency.
Absorbency is provided by hemp/organic cotton french terry - a very absorbent, antibacterial fabric. Select the number of layers of absorbency you would like. I would recommend three layers for post partum and heavy menstrual use.
There are two lengths:
33cm - post partum, heavy menstrual flow $14.00
37cm - ideal for post partum use and very heavy menstrual flow $16.00
Placenta Bags
If you are planning a Lotus Birth for your baby, you may want to have a special bag to hold the placenta during the Lotus period. If you do not have time or skills to make one yourself, then you can order a custom placenta bag for this purpose.
These bags feature a cover for the umbilical cord and are in two separate parts
- a
feature fabric outer bag and a plain inner one. Each
part fastens with snaps (not hook loop or Velcro which can be rough on
newborn soft skin) and the inner bag fits 
snugly inside the outer.
Provide your own fabric for the outer layer and I will line it with white muslin if necessary and include an inner bag of your choice of hemp/organic cotton french terry or cotton calico. Suitable fabrics include silk (as in the image at the top of this page), velvet (see image to the right), quilters cotton, corduroy and so on. If you provide the fabric, you will need a piece approx 60cm x 112cm - or about 80 cm square.
