Advanced Search Techniques
I have been preparing extreme hunts for several years now, and would like to share with you some of the techniques that I have used in the past. Of course, I've hidden the icon differently this time, but you may find this helpful, nevertheless...
* You can skip forward from link to link on a page by pressing the tab key.
* Tab and shift together take you backwards through the links.
* You can view the source code of a page in Firefox by right clicking the mouse and selecting the View Page Source option. There can be comments and other information included in the source code that does not appear on the screen for the rendered web pages.
* Links do not always show as blue underlined text.
* As you pass your mouse over the screen, watch the status bar for any information that may pop up.
* Links can also be on images.
* Search engines can be your friend to search for the answers to riddles or products. Check the advanced search options for your search engine of choice.
* Keep an eye on the address bar of the pages that you visit. You may find further information there to help you track down unusual pathways.
* Images can have alternate text or Tool Tips associated with them. View these by hovering over the image or, in Firefox, right clicking on the image and selecting View Image Info.
